When talking about I&C, we often know what its about but are unsure of how to fit into into our curriculum. The pedagogy within this framework allows us to identify creativity, how you can be creative and teach creativity to your students through the use of discovery, reflecting and assessment. The framework is made up of three stages:
Identification
Feedback and reflection
Assessment
Much like the 8 ways of learning framework, which uses symbols to represent different areas, this is a pedagogical framework that caters for Aboriginal perspectives.
These symbols can be used in assessment when marking students work and when reflecting on yourself as a teacher. Below is a link of an example how it can be incorporated into assessment.
Pedagogical strategies that include rich learning environments, language that stimulates the imagination are all beneficial for promoting creativity (Craft, 2005).
This stage allows us to find out not only as a teacher what our thoughts are on creativity but also our students. The following files are templates that can be used to scaffold information and stimulate critical thinking.
Setting goals enables students to identify areas that need improvement. During this process students have to think creatively as to how they are going to reach these goals that they have set for themselves. Evaluation happens when one comes goals with outcomes and determines what needs to be done in order to achieve them, (Williams, 1976). The image below also reveals what type of things are needed when setting goals and can be used as resourcing when working with students.
